Losses and wins: Westfield Mayor still optimistic about city’s sports economy

Entering 2026, the City of Westfield was in the spotlight as far as being a sports destination.
The Droplight Grand Park Sports Campus hosted the Indianapolis Colts training camp and was a finalist in hosting a team base camp for the FIFA World Cup. The inaugural LIV Golf Indianapolis event at the Club of Chatham Hills in August 2025 was a success at the gate.
By the end of this year, however, the city might not have any of those assets.
