2025 By the Numbers: Laying the Foundation for Westfield’s Future

As we emerge from the holiday season and start working in earnest on the business of a new year, the Westfield Economic Development Department is proud to reflect on what 2025 delivered for our community’s economic future. This year was about laying the groundwork strategically, collaboratively, and with long-term impact in mind. As we continue building upon the foundation we have established, it’s worth taking a moment to look back on the accomplishments of the past 12 months. 

What follows here are just a few of our highlights. In 2025, the Westfield Economic Development Department supported our businesses and the broader community with: 

• More than $46 million of industrial investment to bring 480,000+ square feet of development to the market including the new Vikan North America HQ building
• 130 business retention, expansion, and attraction efforts through RFI responses, site visits, BRE visits, and sales trips
• More than 50 groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, land acquisitions, and closings to move catalytic projects from vision to reality
• More than 25 external engagement opportunities conducted through grants, presentations, and developer roundtables
• More than 10 major redevelopment milestones advanced and announced across Downtown, Grand Park District, and key commercial corridors
• 5 foundational planning efforts completed, including master plans, PUD approvals, and economic development studies
• 5 department tools launched, from a CRM and marketing blueprint to a new website and original video content to better serve and reach our stakeholders
• 5 new remote workers who moved to Westfield by taking advantage of our Make My Move program

We secured site readiness and infrastructure funding, closed on critical land deals, advanced signature projects like the Grand Park District, created an RFPQ for an ice hockey facility, and presented a downtown redevelopment plan that positioned Westfield for what’s next.

In 2026, our focus shifts to execution, advancing catalytic developments, delivering on Downtown and Grand Park District projects, attracting new employers, and continuing to invest in the infrastructure and partnerships that keep Westfield competitive and growing.
